Baby the Bird needs a home
Meet Baby!
A total lovebug, this super sweet Umbrella Cockatoo would love it if she could simply be with her person all day, every day. Like most cockatoos, she thrives on lots of positive interaction. Her owners told us she is a female, though she has not been DNA tested, and that she is about 25 years old. She is a super affectionate bird and loves cuddling and head scratches. She also enjoys music and dancing and can be a bit of a chatter bug! Baby knows a few words, such as "Hello" and "pretty bird", and also enjoys playing with toys and bath time.
Unfortunately, Baby has learned that if she is feeling ignored, a nice loud jungle scream will get her people to pay attention to her. It doesn't even matter if its negative attention--she just wants people to notice her! Baby will do best in a home with an experienced owner who has lots of time to spend with her and who can take time to help her learn she does not need to scream for attention. However, her new owners should also be aware that sometimes, a bird has just got to tell the world how she is feeling!
Baby will only be placed in a home with large bird experience, and cockatoo experience is preferred. She can be seen at the shelter by appointment only. To get more information or to set up a meeting, please email [email protected]. Baby's adoption fee is $500.
